 Tokopedia Sees Strong Growth for Children Product Sales Through Tokopedia Parents Fair

Indonesia, May 25, 2022 – The Tokopedia Parents Fair campaign event held in early December 2021 was met with great enthusiasm by the Indonesian public. "This is evidenced by the fact that the number of children's products sold and purchased has nearly doubled since the first event in early March 2021,” said Tokopedia’s Head of Category Development, Ramadhan Niendraputra.

To meet the growing demand for a variety of children's products, Tokopedia plans to bring back the Tokopedia Parents Fair, to be held June 1-9, 2022, complete with a range of special offers and promotions to make shopping even more enjoyable.

"The Tokopedia Parents Fair itself is one of the largest campaigns of Tokopedia Parents, a special ecosystem where people, particularly mothers from all walks of life, can easily access products and various important information they need for their children," Ramadhan explained.

Tokopedia Parents also serves as a forum for mothers to exchange opinions and information about the world of parenting. They can also participate in webinars and talk shows with experts on topics such as investment, financial management, children's talents, and many others.

With the Tokopedia Parents ecosystem, the Mom & Baby and Kids’ Fashion became Tokopedia's fastest-growing categories in the first quarter of 2022.

Many local MSMEs specializing in mother and children needs also felt the positive impact of Tokopedia Parents. Boogybaby Indonesia is an example of a local MSME that has benefited from Tokopedia Parents. In the first quarter of 2022, the store experienced a 26-fold increase in transactions compared to the same period in the previous year.

In line with Tokopedia's Hyperlocal initiative, the Tokopedia Parents page has been personalized to bring small and medium-sized businesses in Indonesian cities such as Bandung, Makassar, and Malang closer to local buyers.

"In the first quarter of 2022, the number of sellers of children's products in regions such as Pacitan, South Lampung, Langsa, Gunungkidul, and Klungkung increased significantly compared to last year," concluded Ramadhan.
