Asrianto founded Sengkang Weaving in 2013. This entrepreneur from Sengkang, South Sulawesi has empowered dozens of local women weavers and produces Bugis-Makassar weaving and silk in the form of blouses, dresses, robes, shirts, sarongs and so on.
“Our products are made using traditional looms that are driven by a parallel combination of hands and feet. The manufacturing process itself can take 3-4 months. Each Sengkang woven fabric has a symbolic meaning and distinctive traditional value,” he said.
