Jakarta, 23 June 2021 – Semangat Digital Bangsa (SDB), an innovative credit scoring (ICS) service provider affiliated with Tokopedia, has officially launched Toko Score.
“This digital-based ICS service is expected to make it easier for strategic partners in the financial industry to assess and provide loans to more Indonesians, especially those who still do not have access to financial services,” said Head of Business Development and Marketing of Semangat Digital Bangsa, Evita Soetjoadi.
Toko Score provides credit scores from prospective borrowers to strategic partners, in this case financial service institutions, by analyzing the risk profile of prospective borrowers based on the activities and transaction behavior of prospective borrowers on the e-commerce platform, Tokopedia, by prioritizing the principles of security and protection of personal data based on applicable regulations.
Evita added, “These conveniences of accessing digital-based ICS services can also help strategic partners, in this case financial service institutions, measure the risk profile of prospective borrowers in real time.”
On the other hand, Toko Score’s assessment indirectly helps sellers get their capital in developing their business, as well as for buyers to gain wider financial access, making it easier to meet their daily needs.
Both buyers and sellers who do not have access to financial services (unbanked) can get loans from formal financial institutions, such as banks. In addition, Toko Score itself has been registered and supervised by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), therefore, strategic partners can safely use Toko Score’s ICS service.
Data from the Indonesian Ministry of Finance in April 2021 stated that 132 million people in Indonesia are currently unbanked and do not have access to credit or financing.
“This is an opportunity for SDB to democratize financial access to everyone through technology, even in the midst of the current pandemic,” added Evita.
SDB is also a member of the Indonesian FinTech Association (AFTECH) as the Association for Digital Financial Innovation Providers. The continuous collaboration is aimed at intensifying socialization and education to financial service institutions, especially microfinance institutions, regarding ICS knowledge and technology as a competitive advantage.
