To celebrate the 211th Anniversary of the City of Bandung, Tokopedia Helps F&B MSMEs Increase Sales through Tokopedia Nyam Bandung

Bandung, 23 September 2021 – Welcoming the 211th Anniversary of the City of Bandung, Tokopedia and the Bandung City Government invite more Bandung MSMEs in the food and beverage sector to adapt to technology to develop their businesses, for example through digital platforms such as Tokopedia and the Tokopedia Nyam Bandung campaign.

“Many local MSMEs have actually found momentum in the midst of the pandemic to start a business. At the beginning of the second quarter of 2021, the number of food and beverage sellers who joined Tokopedia Nyam Bandung increased by about 60 percent compared to the previous quarter,” said Public Policy and Government Relations Senior Lead Tokopedia, Emmiryzan.

Deputy Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana said, “It is very important for Bandung SMEs to be able to adapt to technological developments in doing business, for example through the use of digital platforms such as Tokopedia. We hope that in the future there will be more collaborations and initiatives such as Tokopedia Nyam so that local MSMEs can dominate in their own country.”

Tokopedia Nyam and a number of other initiatives have driven an increase in transactions in the food and beverage category at Tokopedia. A significant increase in transactions was also experienced by Diasapin Beef, a local business activist from Bandung founded by Bagja Putra.

“Since participating in the Tokopedia Nyam Bandung campaign, our sales have increased by tens of percent. We also take advantage of various features and promos such as Free Shipping, Flash Sale, Bundling and becoming an Official Store so that our store customers are increasingly expanding to the Manado, Makassar to Bangka Belitung areas, “explained Bagja Putra, Owner of Diasapin Beef.

Bagja added, “Tokopedia Nyam also helps us reach more new buyers who are interested in trying our smoked meat products. Currently our products have also managed to sell up to hundreds of products per month through Tokopedia.”

Tokopedia Reveals Shopping Trends for the People of Bandung

Online shopping is increasingly becoming the choice of people to meet the needs of daily life, especially in the midst of a pandemic. The Food and Beverage category, for example, became one of the favorite categories on Tokopedia during the second quarter of 2021.

Head of Category Development Tokopedia, Pranidhana Mahardhika, said, “The public’s enthusiasm for food and beverage products has encouraged Drinks, Protein & Eggs, Seasonings & Cooking Ingredients, Snacks, and Vegetables & Fruits as the most favorite product sub-categories at Tokopedia Nyam Bandung during second quarter/2021.”

“In addition, products such as honey, batagor kuah, banana bolen, and typical Bandung snacks such as seblak are the most sought after by the public,” Mahardhika added.

“Hyperlocal initiatives, including Tokopedia Nyam Bandung, are in line with Tokopedia’s commitment to continue collaborating with strategic partners, including the government and local MSME activists in Bandung in the food and beverage sector as well as all Indonesian people so that together they can encourage national economic recovery,” concluded Emmiryzan.
