Tokopedia Launched ‘Tokopedia Parents’

One-Stop Shopping Experience for Parents

Jakarta, 10 March 2021 – Tokopedia launched Tokopedia Parents, a dedicated ecosystem in Tokopedia to make it easier for Indonesians, especially parents, to fulfill their needs and get relevant information related to parenting and households.

Tokopedia Parents’ launch was due to an increase in transactions in the Mom & Baby and Kids’ Fashion (MBKF) category on Tokopedia which reached nearly 2x during 2020 when compared to 2019. The Home & Living category also rose more than 2x.

Assistant Deputy for Improvement of Family Participation, Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (Kemen PPPA), Ir. Prijadi Santoso, M.Si, said, “We appreciate Tokopedia’s initiative in launching Tokopedia Parents. This is in line with KPPPA’s commitment to support the resilience of Indonesian families, especially in the midst of the  pandemic. We hope every parent can get easier access to various information and education, from parenting to maintaining health.”

Deputy Chairperson of the West Java Province TP-PKK, Lina Marlina, said, “In the midst of the pandemic, the role of parents is increasingly important in meeting family needs, especially in accompanying children. Tokopedia Parents’ presence is expected to be a platform for parents to get information and inspiration in supporting the physical and mental health of the family.”

On the same occasion, VP of Tokopedia, Indra Yonathan, said, “Tokopedia Parents is part of Tokopedia’s commitment to always being available and making it possible to provide a stage for businesses in related industries, especially local MSMEs, in order to adapt in the midst of the pandemic.”

“Furthermore, parents can experience other added values ​​through Tokopedia Parents that can make shopping for family needs much safer and more economical. We also provide webinars, talk shows and discussion forums for the parent community to share information and experiences with a number of inspiring speakers,” continued Yonathan.

Tokopedia is also collaborating with Chelsea Olivia as Tokopedia Parents’ Brand Ambassador to help bridge parents and communities. Chelsea explained, “The pandemic has led to a change in family routines. For instance, my partner and I are encouraged to build effective communication patterns to keep the environment positive at home.”

“In doing activities with our two children, my partner and I also have to be more creative so they don’t get bored at home. Tokopedia Parents helps us find various inspirational activities as well as daily necessities that can support family activities,” added Chelsea.

As part of Tokopedia Parents’ launch, Tokopedia is holding a Tokopedia Parents Online Fair campaign until March 10, 2021. People can enjoy a number of attractive offers, one of which is a discount of up to 90% from various businesses, including local MSMEs.
