Tokopedia Launches New COVID-19 Protection to Help Fight Against Pandemic
  • Covid-19 protection is launched with an affordable premium, starting from Rp10.000, with compensation of up to Rp12 million
  • Claiming is very easy and can be done completely online, people only need to include PCR results with positive COVID-19 report
  • The claim process is also very fast with a waiting period of only 7 days

Jakarta, 9 April 2021 – Tokopedia has launched COVID-19 Protection, a Health Insurance product to make it easier for the public to get more protection against the risk of COVID-19 and accidents for one month at an affordable premium, starting from Rp10.000.

Head of Investment & Insurance Tokopedia, Marissa Dewi, said, “The insurance claim process is very easy and fast, and can be entirely done online. People can get compensation only by including PCR results with a positive COVID-19 report. The waiting period is only 7 days.”

There are 3 protection plans that Indonesians can choose according to their needs. Starting from the Basic type, people only need to pay a premium of Rp10.000. The sum insured for a user diagnosed positive for COVID-19 reaches up to Rp1 million and Rp5 million if passed away due to COVID-19.

For the Standard type, Indonesians only need to pay Rp19.000, and will get compensation worth Rp1.2 million if tested positive for COVID-19, and Rp6 million if passed away due to COVID-19.

As for the Premium type, by paying a premium of Rp25.000, Indonesians can get compensation of up to Rp2.4 million if tested positive for COVID-19. Users will get compensation of up to Rp12 million if they die from COVID-19.

Users can easily activate COVID-19 Protection in a matter of minutes. “Simply access COVID-19 Protection through the Tokopedia search bar. Then select the type of insurance plan needed and fill in your personal data on the registration form page. Payment can be made with more than 50 payment methods on Tokopedia,” added Marissa.

The deadline for submitting a claim is a maximum of 2×24 hours to get compensation if tested positive for COVID-19 and 7 days if passed away due to COVID-19 or an accident based on the certificate issuance from the hospital.
