Jakarta, April 22, 2022 – Food and Beverage (F&B) was one of the categories on Tokopedia that saw the largest increase in transactions at the beginning of Ramadan compared to the same period in the previous year.
"The Sukari and Ajwa varieties of dates are the top sellers in Tokopedia during the early days of Ramadan. On the other hand, shallots and squid chilis are the two chili sauces that are most in-demand among the population," explained Tokopedia’s Growth Marketing Senior Lead, Maisyalina Agustiana.
Tokopedia has also discovered some interesting trends in food and beverage sellers on Tokopedia since the start of Ramadan. “Pekanbaru, Bandar Lampung, Denpasar, Balikpapan, and Manado are some examples of cities with the highest increase in the number of F&B sellers during the beginning of Ramadan,” continued Maisyalina.
Tokopedia continues to introduce various campaigns to help customers easily meet their everyday needs during Ramadan, such as getting food and beverage for sahur and iftar.
For example, Tokopedia NOW! is a 24/7 service that allows people to purchase the daily necessities needed during fasting and receive them within a maximum of two hours of delivery following payment. “In other words, you can have ingredients to cook sahur meals delivered to your doorstep any time – even at the 3 in the morning,” said Maisyalina.
Tokopedia also recently introduced Parsel Ramadan, a program that offers thousands of options for Eid parcels – such as kue kering, ready-to-eat food, cutlery, aromatherapy products, to religious items – with prices starting from Rp. 50.000 and is available with free shipping promos via GoSend.
“Food parcel transactions on Tokopedia at the beginning of Ramadan 2022 nearly doubled compared to the same period in the previous year," Maisyalina explained.
People from different parts of Indonesia can also benefit from a variety of Hyperlocal initiative derivative campaigns that are tailored to their respective regions. One of the campaigns in this initiative is Tokopedia Nyam!, which collaborates with local MSMEs to ensure that underprivileged people can get the F&B products that they need from the nearest seller.
