Tokopedia Shares Wellness from Home (WFH) Tips

Jakarta, March 26, 2021 – Tokopedia and Sleep Health Practitioner, dr. Andreas Prasadja, RPSGT, held a virtual media gathering with the theme “Wellness from Home (WFH)”. Through this event, the public can get relevant tips and information related to maintaining health during work from home (WFH) in the midst of a pandemic.

Dr. Andreas Prasadja, RPSGT said, “Maintaining a healthy body during WFH can be done through 3 main things: from balance of nutrition and vitamins, regular exercise to adequate sleep.”

  1. Balanced Nutrition Boosts Immune System – Healthy food awareness has started to increase among Indonesians, especially during the pandemic. Apart from helping reduce the risk of catching diseases, nutritious foods and vitamins can also help increase immunity.

“Health category transactions in Tokopedia increased almost 3x in the first quarter of 2021 when compared to the same period in the previous year. Vitamin products also increased almost 5 times,” explained External Communications Senior Lead Tokopedia, Ekhel Chandra Wijaya.

  1. Avoid Evening Exercise – Apart from staying fit, exercise can also reduce stress levels while working at home. Stretching, yoga, zumba and dancing can be options for light sports done at home.

“Set a time to exercise every day, for example in the morning before starting an activity or in the afternoon. It is recommended not to exercise at night because it will trigger adrenaline rush, causing insomnia,” explained dr. Andreas.

  1. Sleep Enough to Prevent Obesity – According to dr. Andreas, the ideal sleep duration is 7-9 hours a day. If this duration is met, then the need for sleep will be fulfilled so that the body’s performance is more optimal.

“Irregular sleeping hours can affect a person’s immune system, thus becoming more susceptible to diseases. In addition, sleeping late on a regular basis can also lead to obesity which can lead to other complications,” added dr. Andreas.
