Tokopedia Ungkap 5 Kategori Paling Populer di Akhir Tahun

Indonesia, 28 Desember 2020 – Selama pandemi, platform teknologi seperti Tokopedia semakin menjadi andalan masyarakat dalam memenuhi kebutuhan harian hingga berbisnis. Terlihat dari pertumbuhan jumlah pengguna aktif bulanan Tokopedia yang saat ini mencapai lebih dari 100 juta, meningkat lebih dari 10 juta jika dibandingkan sebelum pandemi.

Jumlah penjual pun meningkat. “Kini ada lebih dari 9,9 juta penjual di Tokopedia yang hampir 100%nya UMKM. Artinya, ada kenaikan sebesar lebih dari 2,7 juta dari 7,2 juta penjual sejak sebelum pandemi Januari lalu,” ungkap External Communications Senior Lead Tokopedia, Ekhel Chandra Wijaya.

Di sisi lain, berdasarkan data internal Tokopedia, kategori Makanan dan Minuman, Kesehatan, Perawatan Hewan, Buku dan Pertukangan menjadi lima kategori dengan peningkatan transaksi paling tinggi menjelang akhir tahun ini.

  1. Makanan dan Minuman – Transaksi kategori Makanan dan Minuman meningkat lebih dari 3x lipat menjelang akhir tahun. Produk sembako lokal seperti madu, buah-buahan, telur, kopi lokal, keripik dan beras menjadi produk paling dicari masyarakat belakangan ini.
  2. Kesehatan – Kategori Kesehatan juga meningkat lebih dari 3x lipat. Masker tetap menjadi produk yang paling diburu masyarakat.
  3. Perawatan Hewan – Memelihara hewan ternyata menjadi hobi yang semakin naik daun. Ini mendorong peningkatan transaksi pada kategori Perawatan Hewan di Tokopedia menjadi lebih dari 3x lipat. Aquarium, makanan kucing, ikan dan anjing menjadi produk paling laris.
  4. Buku – Selain memelihara hewan, membaca pun semakin diminati selama pandemi. Terlihat dari peningkatan transaksi pada kategori Buku di Tokopedia sebesar hampir 2,5x lipat. Buku pengembangan diri, karir, anak, novel non-fiksi hingga religi menjadi produk yang paling populer.
  5. Pertukangan – Tingginya aktivitas di rumah mendorong masyarakat merenovasi rumah. Terlihat dari peningkatan transaksi kategori Pertukangan yang mencapai lebih dari 2,5x lipat. Kertas dinding, pompa angin, serta perlengkapan listrik seperti adaptor dan stop kontak merupakan produk yang paling diminati.

Tokopedia Reveals 5 Most Popular Categories at the End of 2020

Indonesia, 28 December 2020 – During the pandemic, technology platforms such as Tokopedia have increasingly become the mainstay of Indonesians for fulfilling daily needs and doing online transactions. This can be seen from the growth in the number of monthly active users of Tokopedia, which currently reaches more than 100 million, an increase of more than 10 million when compared to a period before the pandemic.

The number of sellers has also increased. “Now there are more than 9.9 million sellers on Tokopedia, almost 100% of which are MSMEs.   1. Food and Beverages – Transactions in the Food and Beverage category increased more than 3x by the end of the year. Local grocery products such as honey, fruits, eggs, local coffee, chips and rice became the most sought-after products lately.
  2. Health – The Health category’s transactions also increased by more than 3x. Face masks remain the product most sought after by Indonesians.
  3. Animal Care – Raising pets turned out to be an increasingly popular hobby. This has led to an increase in transactions in the Animal Care category on Tokopedia to more than 3x. Aquariums, cat, fish and dog food are the best selling products.
  4. Books – Apart from raising pets, more people are turning to books during the pandemic. This can be seen from the increase in transactions in the Book category on Tokopedia by almost 2.5x. Self-development, career, children’s books, non-fiction novels to religion are the most popular genres.
  5. Carpentry – Pandemic also encourages more people to renovate their homes. This can be seen from the increase in transactions in the Carpentry category, which reached more than 2.5 times. Wallpaper, air pumps, and electrical equipment such as adapters and sockets are the most popular products.
