1. This is a SAS SFF-8482 to 7-pin + 15-pin SATA Hard Drive Raid Adapter, enables you to connect a SAS HDD with SFF-8482 port to a SAS-compatible SATA controller (hybrid controller) motherboard.
To use a SAS hard drive on a regular SATA motherboard, the drive must have the SATA logo (meaning that this SAS drive is compatible with SATA). Please pay attention to the description in the picture.
2. The motherboard must support SAS (a SATA cable can be used) and must be connected to the SAS connector, otherwise the hard disc on the SATA will not be recognised! The purpose of this product is to connect a SAS hard disc to a motherboard with a SATA interface via this adapter. Please note that it cannot be used in reverse!
3. Convert SAS hard disk to SATA and connect it to SATA port of motherboard.
Ordinary motherboards can also directly enjoy high-speed SAS hard disk (your SAS hard disk support SATA mode or SATA motherboard with SAS chip), SATA support 6GB SATA3 mode
SATA motherboard with SAS hard disk need to meet one of the following conditions, otherwise it can not be used.
1. The motherboard supports SAS
2. Connect an external SAS controller
3. SAS hard disk support SATA mode
There are 2 general uses for this product:
1. the SATA hard disk interface data and power separation, connect the motherboard SATA interface and power cord, can be directly connected. SATA motherboards before use part of the motherboard must be set to BIOS AHCI mode (to do RAID optional RAID mode)
2 will be separated from the SAS hard disk interface data and power, connect the motherboard SAS interface SFF-8482 and power cord, can be directly connected.
This product can not be used for SAS hard disk connected to the ordinary motherboard SATA port (unless your SAS hard disk support SATA mode, or SATA motherboard with SAS chip)
NOTE:The SAS hard disk must have SATA logo!!!!
