The 5000 Series bass drum pedals established DW’s reputation for innovation and quality. But because innovation is in Drum Workshop’s DNA, we’ve made some major improvements to our most popular pedals. One of the improvements is the jaw, which allows the 5000 Series pedals to have more gripping force, providing a stronger connection between the drummer and the bass drum. That’s why we developed the Tri-Pivot Toe Clamp. The Tri-Pivot features three independent, 360-degree rotating rubber pads that firmly grip almost any diameter or thickness of bass drum hoop, from the top and bottom, with no slippage. Combined with a new textured rubber pad on the base plate, we think you’ll agree… there’s never been a better way to attach a pedal to a bass drum. To improve the smoothness and feel of the 5000 Series pedals, a Dual Bearing Spring Rocker has been added, making the 5000 faster and more responsive than ever before. Finally, the dual-chain Accelerator drive system, with a motion that creates an indirect relationship between the cam and the sole, shortening the stroke length and increasing speed and sensitivity. The legendary 5000 Series bass drum pedals continue to feature hexagonal axles, aluminum soles and connections, the patented Delta Ball Bearing, and the versatile two-sided beater. Additionally, the 5002 double pedals feature the patented Single Post Casting design. This allows you to place the auxiliary bass pedal closer to the hi-hat pedal, allowing you to move your foot more quickly and easily between the two, or even play them simultaneously.
