In honor of the rich Indonesian craft of batik, Jenggala has created the Batik Collection. Our talented craftsmen use small knives and chisels to delicately engrave the detailed Parang batik motif, just like traditional batik artists using the wax resist dyeing technique on fabric. The fine batik design is wrapped around the item to bring the pattern to life. To accentuate the details a colored oxide wash is applied to the motif to create a shading effect very similar to the original pattern on cloth. Add this traditional elegance to your table with the Batik Salad Bowl. Made from stoneware, this bowl comes in a ivory gloss with blue wash and is suitable for salads, pastas, rice dishes or a serving dish.
