Chrysanthos Underglaze Chalks are lead-free and non-toxic and are intended for use on bisque where it is desired to color or shade larger areas.

Two or more colors can be smeared together to create other colors or shades using the same technique as for one color.

After application, excess dust should be brushed off gently, and the decoration should be coated with a CLEAR GLAZE before firing and fired to the glaze maturing temperature.
The first coat of glaze should be sponged on over the Underglaze Chalk design to prevent the design from coming off if a brush-on glaze is used. If the glaze is to be sprayed on or dipped on, it is not necessary to sponge any glaze on over the Underglaze Chalk design.

Once coated with a suitable food safe glaze, the chalk decoration is food safe provided the glaze has been fired correctly.

Always test before large bulk firing.
