TRIETHYL CITRATE acts as an antiperspirant / deo-active, solvent, diluent, plasticizer and fixative. It is produced by esterification of citric acid with ethanol. It inhibits the enzymatic decomposition of sweat components and is therefore an excellent active agent for deodorants. It is non-irritant to skin and shows no sensitizing effects. It reduces the tackiness of low volatile hair sprays. TRIETHYL CITRATE is used in aerosol hair sprays, deodorants, flavors and perfumes.
