When it is used in the zoom lens, especially the zoom head with variable aperture and small aperture number, the effect will be significantly inferior to the prime lens. So, it can only be used on lenses such as EF24-85/3.5-4.5.

prominent front to zoom in image and a slightly hollowed back to
decrease twisted image. It's like a magnifying glass when used to
observe things.
Close-up filter is generally designed according to standard 50mm prime lens. It is not suitable to take photos of human.
+1 and +2 lens are used to take photos of such things like magnolia
flower's size; +4 and +10 lens are used to take photos of such things
like flower heart or bee's size. Degree gets deeper and deformation gets
bigger as the number become larger.
