Raspberry Pi 5 dilengkapi dengan CPU ARM Cortex-A76 2.4GHz (16nm SoC) serta GPU VideoCore VII 800MHz, Raspberry Pi 5 bisa menjadi pilihan yang lebih baik untuk proyek yang membutuhkan pemosesan berkecepatan tinggi seperti program AI (Artificial Intelligence) maupun rendering grafis. Raspberry Pi 5 ini mangakomodasi RAM LPDDR4X-4267 4GB, bahkan sudah terdapat indikator kapasitas RAM pada board.
Raspberry Pi 5 dilengkapi dengan port-port tambahan yang tidak dimiliki pada Raspberry Pi 4, yaitu port UART debug, Real-time clock, dan PCI.
