A camel brush does not contain hair from a camel. Rather, camel hair is a term used in the brush industry for a soft natural fiber, usually from an ox, that may be dyed or treated to resemble sable. A camel hair brush is used for watercolor and water-based media.
It works well for wash techniques, but does not point or create sharp edges like sable.
