Tanglewood's Blackbird line is a nostalgic throwback in style to American acoustic guitars of the 1940s and 1950s.

The Tanglewood Blackbird TWBB SFCE is an electro-acoustic guitar of the "Super Folk" type, i.e. an instrument with a narrower and shallower body than, for example, the Dreadnought. The body of the guitar is made of laminated African mahogany. The neck is attached to the body at the fourteenth fret, the fingerboard surface made of composite material is divided by twenty frets and orientation position dots. A lower body cutout facilitates the touch on the higher positions of the fingerboard.

Sound reinforcement options include the company's TW Premium Plus preamp with four-band EQ, Phase function and integrated tuner. Strings are held in chrome die-cast mechanisms and a composite headstock. The vintage feel and feel of the instrument is enhanced by the Smokestack Black Satin finish on the top.
