Surge Arrester adalah device yang digunakan untuk melindungi peralatan elektronik dari bahaya petir dengan cara membuang muatan listrik kejut (impuls) ke tanah , sehingga otomatis arrester harus terhubung ke grounding.
Device ini tidak termasuk kabel grounding, sehingga harus disediakan sendiri.
Surge Arrester Tipe 2 yang direkomendasikan untuk melindungi peralatan elektronik residential
(rumah tinggal) terhadap bahaya petir tidak langsung.
Harus dikombinasikan dengan MCB 20A.
