Cuora galbinifrons, commonly known as the Vietnamese pond turtle, is native to Vietnam and parts of China. Its natural habitat includes freshwater ponds, marshes, and streams in subtropical and tropical regions. These turtles prefer slow-moving or still waters with plenty of vegetation for cover and food. However, due to habitat destruction and illegal trade, their populations have declined significantly in the wild. Conservation efforts are underway to protect and restore their natural habitats and to combat illegal trafficking
Cuora galbinifrons, the Vietnamese pond turtle, typically grows to a carapace length of around 15 to 20 centimeters (6 to 8 inches) when fully mature. However, there can be variations in size depending on factors such as genetics, habitat quality, and nutrition. As with many turtle species, females tend to be slightly larger than males on average.
