Eachplayeralsoreceivesacharactercardwhichgrantshimaspecialpowerinthegame.TheSheriffrevealshisrolecardandtakesthefirstturnofthegame.Onaturn,aplayercanrollthefivediceuptothreetimes,usingtheresultsofthedicetoshootneighboringplayers,increasetherangeofhisshots,healhis(oranyoneelse's)lifepoints,orputhiminrangeoftheIndians,whicharerepresentedbyninetokensinthecenterofthetable.Eachtimeaplayerrollsanarrow,hetakesoneofthesetokens;whenthefinaltokenistaken,eachplayerlosesonelifepointforeachtokenheholds,thenthetokensarereturnedtothecenterofthetable.
