The USB Type-C to HDMI /VGA Adapter lets you output perfect digital HDMI /VGA audio & video signals from your fancy new USB 3.1 Type C equipped machine. Simply connect the Type-C male plug to your computer's Type-C socket
USB 3.1 SuperSpeed Type C: Simple
With the USB 3.1 Type-C plug, we get a new plug design that is reversible, meaning it inserts in either orientation (no more fiddling around for a USB socket in the dark, only to find you have the plug the wrong way around). But physical differences aside, USB 3.1 can now support data transfer speeds of up to 10Gbps – that's double that of USB 3.0.
But when using this new standard as an AV adapter (as seen here) we don't care about the data throughput and super-mega-gigaflops it can handle, we want to know if our old AV technology will work with the newly discovered USB interface the USB 3.1 standard allows You interface with HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort, Mini-DisplayPort and even VGA – all from a universal Type-C plug design. You simply insert the adapter cable, connect the relevant cable to your display and away you go!
