Roti Island Snake-necked Turtle is an Indonesia native reptile protected by the Government due to its endangered status and shrinking habitat. The turtle gets its name due to its distinctive long snake-like neck and lives natively in Rote Island, Indonesia. Unlike other turtles, snake-necked turtles cannot retract its head inside their shells. In Nusantara’s mythology, turtles are said to be the favorite form of animal for Vishnu, God of preserver and protector of the universe, to transform into, in order to save the universe. In the time of turmoil and war of gods and titans, the world almost collapses under the pressure. Vishnu, transformed into a giant turtle named Kurma, put the world on its back to save it. PALA Kura Leher Ular is inspired by these myths of gods, living with humans side by side, taking the form of living things surrounding us. The symbol gives birth to the design in presenting a strong identity for lovers of myths, to share it with the world.
