CRC Smoke Test is a smokeless aerosol spray that provides a functional test for both residential and commercial smoke detectors and is listed by Underwriters Laboratories for testing the operational function of photoelectric or ionization type detectors, per NFPA Table 7-22, 13G.
It offers testing convenience and a way to ensure that smoke detectors are in proper working order and free of obstructing debris such as dirt, dust paint, and spiders.

Directions:
Shake can well. Hold can 2 to 4 feet below smoke detector and spray at unit for 2 to 3 seconds. If alarm does not sound within 5 seconds, immediately repeat the process. Some units have built-in delays to reduce false alarms. If alarm still fails to sound, check unit for malfunction or dead batteries.
Caution:
Do not overspray. Overspray may reduce sensitivity until product fully evaporates. For detectors connected to sprinklers, Halon systems or central monitoring systems, be sure system is in the test mode before using Smoke Test. Not for use on carbon monoxide detectors.
