The Rodenstock UV Blocking Digital pro MC Slim Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.
The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.
Rodenstock's Digital pro MC filters feature a hardened, black anodized aluminum slimline filter mount with front filter threads. This allows the attachment of other filters or lens hoods while still maintaining the vignette-reduction capabilities of a slim filter. It is constructed from 16-layer, eight layers on each side, multicoated hardened optical glass.
Except of minimal reduction of violet and very long-wave red, the Rodenstock-UV/IR-blocking filter does not influence at all the colors of visible light. Therefore it can be left permanently on the lens and used as a front lens protection. Furthermore, in astronomical photography with photo lenses or telescopes it helps to get sharper images of stars and to reduce color fringes.
The Rodenstock UV/IR Blocking Filter is available with a normal mount in sizes from 27 mm to 82 mm (except 30 mm, 39 mm und 60 mm). It is fitted with a female thread at the front side and a male thread of the same size at the rear. So an additional filter or a lens hood can be fixed.
