Development of the M7CL began with the question: "are analog mixers really ideal when it comes to ease of use?"
The adoption of a touch screen for control while eliminating the cursor keys, dial, and enter keys that had previously been used on Yamaha digital consoles proved that digital mixers could be just as easy, if not easier to operate.
It was also the M7CL that introduced the Centralogic concept for the first time, allowing direct hands-on control of all channels from the console’s center position.
he Yamaha MC7L is a digital live sound reinforcement console designed for permanent installation in medium-sized venues. A "Centralogic" touch panel interface offers instant control over the selected channel or an overview of 8 assigned groups. Each channel sports onboard digital dynamics and EQ, and each input has a recallable mic pre/line amp. Up to 300 scenes of the entire console can be stored and recalled.

The MC7L-48 features 48 mic/line inputs, 4 stereo inputs, 16 mix busses, 8 matrix channels, 8 DCA groups, and 3 expansion slots.
