The Witcher : Lady of the Lake - Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon of Cintra

Lady of the Lake is the name of several characters in Arthurian legend who are the embodiment of a female fairy who guarded the lake around the plains of England.

 Lady of the Lake is mentioned frequently in Arthurian legends.  This place is still a mystery and no one has revealed its existence.

 Legend

 Lady of the Lake took and protected Sir Lancelot and also the brothers, Sir (Bohort) and Sir Lionel - son of King Bohort (Bors) of Dresses

 He is often given the name Nimue or variations such as Niniane and Vivien.  However, Malory used Nyneve (Nimue) as well as the unnamed Lady of the Lake.

 This anonymous water fight was killed by Sir Balin due to a dispute between the two.  Other writers have also treated some of these names (Nimue, Vivien, etc.) as separate 'Lady of the Lake' characters.

 For example, Tennyson described Viviane as a con artist who ensnared Merlin.

 However, it portrays Lady of the Lake as a loving fairy character who raises Sir Lancelot and presents the magic sword Excalibur to Arthur.

 Lady of the Lake and Avalon

 Nyneve (or Nimue) is the tip of Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur, head of the Lady of the Lake.

 She was one of the queens who brought Arthur to Avalon, after he was badly injured in the battle of Camlann.  As such, Avalon is sometimes associated with the world of Lady of the Lake in several literary traditions.

 Since Morgan le Fay in some sources replaced Nimue as Merlin's student in exchange for offering her love to the witch, and also one of the queens who brought Arthur to Avalon, she is also sometimes considered the Lady of the Lake.

Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon, known as Ciri, the Lady of Time and Space and princess of Cintra, is one of the main characters of the Witcher saga.
