The expert of the legendary American publication Stereophile Herb Reichert tested the JBL Stage A170 floor standing speakers . This is the youngest of the three floorstanding speakers in the Stage range . The author asks himself the question: are these $ 500 speakers as good as they seem at first glance?
The Stage A170 is less than a meter tall and weighs 14 kilograms. Complete supports can be supplied with rubber feet or spikes on request. Case finishing options - black vinyl film or wood-like film. The characteristic white woofer cones are made of polycellulose. The 1-inch aluminum tweeter is driven by a horn with a high-resolution acoustic lens and operates from 2800 Hz, the lower woofer - up to 1800 Hz, so the Stage A170 crossover is a 2½-way speaker system. The rear panel has a pair of bass-reflex ports and two pairs of terminals for connecting an amplifier.
