Pros
Close your eyes and the TR8 could pass for a TR808 and a TR909. Kits can be built with instruments from either.
The X0X sequencer is an improvement on the original machines.
Features built‑in effects and two assignable outputs.
Visually striking.
Via its combined audio/MIDI interface, each voice can be recorded separately.
All knobs and sliders send MIDI CCs.
Reasonably priced.
Potential for further expansion.
Cons
Only 16 patterns (each with a variation), which is a bit stingy.
A couple more individual hardware outputs would have been desirable.
To copy a pattern you must first stop playback.
