Summary
Arkady Poltorak, a lawyer by education was chairman of a divisional military tribunal, and a member of an army military tribunal during the Second World War. In 1945-46, he was Secretary of the Soviet delegation at the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg. At present he is a senior research worker at the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the U.S.S.R in Moscow. He is the author of The Soviet Bar (which has been translated into English and Spanish), From Munich to Nuremberg, and a series of essays on international problems.
Yevgeny Zaitsev is a practising lawyer in Leningrad. His speeches in court have been published in 1956 and 1960 in volumes of collected speeches by Soviet lawyers. During the Second World War he was a member of an army military tribunal. He is the author (jointly with Arkady Poltorak) of The Soviet Bar and a number of essays on international problems.
