Aliran air akan menggerakkan rotor yang terbuat dari magnet. Perubahan medan magnet akan ditangkap oleh Hall sensor dan diubah menjadi tegangan (square wave).
Mikrokontroler menghitung frekuensi output square wave tersebut. Akhirnya, kita bisa menghitung aliran air (Liter/menit) yaitu Q dengan menurunkan rumus F = 5.5 * Q - 3
Suhu cairan yang lewat maksimal 120 Celcius dan ukuran selang yang direkomendasikan adalah 6mm.
