DVCAM and DV recording
The DSR-250P allows you to record and playback in both DVCAM and DV (SP only) formats. Although DVCAM format is more reliable and durable than DV format for shooting and editing, DV format offers greater flexibility for distributing edited content. And, if you are ever caught without supplies of tape on hand, switching over to DV is a useful emergency measure because the DV(SP) format has longer recording time than DVCAM.

The DSR-250P features a newly designed 12x zoom lens (digital zoom of 24x and 48x is available via the menu system). Horizontal resolution of 530 TV lines plus the facility for manual zoom, focus and iris adjustments ensures exceptional picture clarity and sharpness.

Sony Super SteadyShot is built in to the DSR-250P! This feature detects and compensates for both horizontal and vertical movements, so your picture remains completely steady.
