Founded in 1935, Misono has always been a small family-owned business. The company initially produced kitchen tools such as vegetable peelers and started manufacturing knives in the late 1960s. Today, Misono is recognized as the oldest Japanese knife maker with Western-style handles.
Misono employs only 50 craftsmen, producing around 150,000 knives per year. Every part of a Misono knife is made in-house and is not outsourced, ensuring strict quality control and consistent inspection for every knife.
