Button Definitions
There are three buttons on the KD59E instrument. These include the On/Off/Mode button, the Plus button and the Minus button. The keys are replaced by the word "MODE" in the following description.
In subsequent descriptions, the word "MODE" is substituted for the key, the word "UP" for the key, and the word "DOWN" for the key.
Replace the key with the word "DOWN".
Mounting Instructions
Attach the meter to the handlebar and adjust it to the proper viewing angle. When the e-bike is disconnected from the power supply, connect the connector of the meter to the corresponding connector of the controller.
When the e-bike is powered off, plug the connector of the instrument with the corresponding connector of the controller to complete the installation.
General Operation
Power on/off operation
Press and hold the MODE button for 2 seconds, the instrument will start to work and provide working power for the controller. In the power-on state, press and hold the MODE button for 2 seconds.
Long press the MODE button for 2 seconds to switch off the power of electric vehicle. In the power off state, the instrument no longer uses the power from the battery.
The leakage current of the instrument is less than 1uA.
If you do not use the electric vehicle for more than 10 minutes, the instrument will shut down automatically.
Turning on/off the headlight
Under power-on state, long press UP button for 2 seconds, the instrument will notify the controller to turn on the headlight, and at the same time, the power indicator and power gear indicator of the instrument will be bright.
When the power is on, long press UP button for 2 seconds, the instrument will notify the controller to turn on the headlight, meanwhile the power indicator and the power gear indicator of the instrument will be dimmed.
Press and hold the UP button again for 2 seconds, the instrument will notify the controller to turn off the headlights, and the brightness of the power indicator and power gear indicator will return to the brightness before turning on the headlights.
Assisted Push Control
After holding down the DOWN button for 2 seconds, the electric vehicle enters the power push state. The electric vehicle travels at a speed of 6 kilometres per hour.
The vehicle travels at a constant speed of 6 km/hour and the gear indicator light cycles sequentially. When the DOWN button is released, the 6Km/h output stops immediately and returns to the pre-push state.
When the DOWN button is released, the output of 6Km/h stops immediately and returns to the state before power push.
The power push function can only be used when the user pushes the e-bike, please do not use it in the riding state.
Power Assist Gear Selection
Shortly press UP/DOWN button to switch the power assisting gear of the e-bike and change the output power of the motor, the output power of the instrument is adjustable.
The output power of the instrument is adjustable from 0 to 5 gears, 0 gear is to stop the power output, 5 gear is the highest power. The default gear of the instrument is 1st gear when it is switched on.
Battery Indication
Battery power indication: five green LEDs light up when the battery voltage is high, and the bottom LED flashes when the battery is under-voltage, indicating the need for immediate charging.
When the battery is under-voltage, the bottom LED blinks to indicate that it needs to be charged immediately.
