WP MCUV is a high transmittance UV filter, mainly used to protect the lens, increase light transmittance and improve the picture quality. Thus, coating is necessary. Double-side multi coating can greatly increase light transmittance.
However, the multi coating is easily stained by water or dust. To avoid the stain, a water-and-stain-proof coating is added upon the transmittance coating, which is generally known as water-proof coating. Water-proof coating, together with anti-reflection coating can better protect the filter and the lens from being scratched.
