Sensor sentuh 16 channel ini menggunakan IC tipe TTP229, cukup dengan tegangan 2.4 sampai 5.5VDC dan sentuhan untuk mengaktifkan sensor ini. Saklar sensor ini dapat dengan mudah dipakai pada berbagai proyek elektronika.

Ketika sinyal capacitive (contohnya jari manusia) berada dalam jarak dekat dengan permukaan tombol, sensor akan mendeteksi perubahan pada nilai capacitance dan mengaktifkan saklar.

Bentuk permukaan sensor dapat diubah dengan memakai hampir semua material konduktif atau material tipis non-konduktif seperti gelas, plastik, kain dan bahkan kayu. Sehingga kita juga dapat menyembunyikannya di dalam dinding, meja dan bagian tombol tersembunyi lainnya.
