Along with the Jacket, we also received AJIRO Denim Shirt. Here they are the classic denim shirt made with the beautiful, one of a kind, AJIRO Denim, by Studio D’Artisan.

AJIRO is a net made of finely cut bamboo or other thin plates that are passed through alternately and woven like a net (in Indonesian: Anyaman). Ajiro has a long history in terms of weaving plants and some baskets which dates back to Jōmon Period, the time between 14,000 and 300 BC. It is believed that wickerwork, which is made by weaving familiar materials and spreading them out, was an essential part of human life.

AJIRO is a weaving technique that imitates the wickerwork. This pattern is designed to protect important things falling out of your hand.

Based on those patterns, Studio D’Artisan create their original AJIRO Denim by combining different woven structures alternately and by washing the fabric so the shrinkage of the fabric make the pattern become more lively and create 3 dimensional look. This is a difficult process because they must be able to calculate the level of shrinkage correctly to create a three dimensional mess appears on that already-complicated woven fabric.

Once again, Studio D’Artisan has pushed their limit to create a beautiful stuffs in their very own away, which is combining Japanese classic patterns and culture with the modern craftsmanship. Here they are, we present you AJIRO Denim.
