Wedang uwuh was accidentally discovered in 1630's, the era when Sultan Agung was the King of Mataram Royal Kingdom, one of Java's most influential kingdom. During his meditation to find the location for royal cemetery, his aids prepared Secang Tea, made from bits of Sappan Wood, which believed have the effect of warming the body. But then the wind stroke hard, shook the trees, causing the dried leaves to fly away, some fell inside the prepared tea. The next morning, Sultan requested the same tea as night as he claimed it was much better than the regular Secang tea. When his aids checked the leftover tea-cup, they found it was filled with trashes of dried leaves. Through such incident, the tea formula since then known as Wedang Uwuh, or literally meant 'trash tea' and become the signature herbal drink of Imogiri region. /
Ingredients / Komposisi:
Ginger, Sappan Wood, Clove Leaves & Springs, Cinnamon Leaves & Nutmeg Leaves /
Jahe, Kayu Secang, Daun & Ranting Cengkeh, Daun Kayu Manis, dan Daun Pala
Preparation / Persiapan:
Boil 800ml of water. Put all tea and leave it for 4-5 minuntes until it becomes fragrant and releases pungent spic flavor. Add sugar or honey as preferred. Remove from heat and strain off the tea and spices residues while pouring the tea into the cup/mug. It can be served hot and cold. Suitable for 4 servings per package /
Rebus 800ml air. Masukkan semua teh dan biarkan selama 4-5 menit hingga harum dan mengeluarkan rasa pedas yang menyengat. Tambahkan gula atau madu sesuai keinginan. Angkat dari api dan saring sisa teh dan bumbu sambil menuangkan teh ke dalam cangkir / mug. Dapat disajikan panas dan dingin. Cocok untuk 4 porsi per paket
