IMDG Code, 2016 Edition Amendment 38-16 The International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG Code) includes revisions to various sections of the Code and to transport requirements for specific substances. It was adopted by IMOs Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) at its ninety-sixth session in May 2016. Amendment 38-16 of the Code is mandatory from 1 January 2018 but may be applied by Administrations on a voluntary basis from 1 January 2017.
