Since there is a limit to the amount of energy that any helmet can absorb, in real-world situations, the only way to avoid large amounts of energy is to avoid them. That's why Arai has pursued a smooth form that easily deflects impacts and a strong helmet body. Until now, the shield attachment part required a slight step to open and close. In order to further improve the ability to deflect impacts, we lowered the shield attachment part by 24 mm using the proven Snell standard test line as a guide, achieving a smoother form for the side of the helmet.


Shield System VAS
A newly developed shield system to achieve the ideal form.
Lowering the position of the shield system means lowering the shield attachment to a position where it cannot be opened or closed. The Super Adsys I type has one point as the axis of rotation, whereas the axis of rotation of the VAS exists as a virtual axis on the helmet. The shield can be opened and closed by combining two tracks: a pin rail track based on the virtual axis and a double pivot function that tracks the shield attachment. This VAS makes it possible to open and close the shield while lowering the position of the shield system.
PB-SNC 2

This latest material was born as a result of further improvements to the special glass fiber, which has 40% higher tensile strength and compressive strength than normal glass fiber. Impact tests were repeated using numerous samples, including fiber thickness, post-processing method, and combination with resin, and the rigidity was increased by improving the surface processing and further increasing the fiber density. The lightweight organic material AR mat (internal material) that is combined as a composite material has also been improved to have high adhesion with the latest super fiber, and the strongest shell that increases the strength of the SNC assembled with a net structure. In addition, it is a special fiber with the highest level of tensile strength and elasticity among organic fibers, which is also used for the visor panel of the F-1. Various materials, such as the super fiber belt used like a barrel hoop, are carefully stacked and molded. The PB-SNC Square has been upgraded to a strong shell for dodging, developed with a new resin and pursued a strong yet lightweight shell. It has evolved into the strongest next-generation helmet body, achieving even greater rigidity, lightness, and toughness.
Hyper Rib
Not only does it increase rigidity, it also makes air flow smoother.
The Hyper Rib that wraps around the bottom of the helmet acts as a shock absorber like a car bumper, improving the side pressure resistance and making the helmet stronger. Arai has come one step closer to the ideal helmet, which is "a strong outer shell and a softer cushioning liner that directly wraps around the head." In addition, the integrated form with the side exhaust smooths the flow of air around the neck.
Diffuser Type12

The rear of the diffuser system has been extended by approximately 20 mm, and the shape of the narrowed sides has been improved by combining the variable aero fins with the spoiler function, which further reduces rear turbulence at high speeds. The intake efficiency has been improved by 19% compared to the diffuser Type 10 (RX-7 RR5). The enlarged switch allows for reliable operation to adjust the amount of air intake when fully open or half open, and the soundproofing and rainproofing performance when fully closed has also been improved. This is the latest diffuser system that combines quietness and operability.
IC Duct 5

Air Channel

In order to further improve the ventilation performance inside the helmet, we developed an air control system. The newly developed "Air Channel" is equipped with a new design that utilizes the negative pressure effect while riding to more efficiently guide and exhaust the air trapped inside the shield to the newly designed "Side Duct 6", which also reduces fogging inside the shield.
Inner side duct
Ventilation that improves the cooling effect above the ears, providing a refreshing feeling.
The inner side duct guides the fresh air taken in from the blow shutter toward the temples, where air tends to stagnate. By increasing the cooling effect above the ears, which tend to get stuffy, the entire area is cooled down evenly.
NE nozzle
A compact NE nozzle that maintains exhaust efficiency.
The hot air around the ears and the air stagnating at the back of the head are powerfully exhausted from the exhaust nozzle of the neck pad by utilizing the negative pressure during riding, keeping the internal environment of the helmet comfortable. The exhaust air also suppresses the generation of turbulent air at the rear, contributing to the stability of the helmet. The synergistic effect with the further improves the exhaust efficiency at the bottom, and the negative pressure allows for powerful exhaust. The nozzle area at the neck has been reduced, making it easier to put on and take off.
