Over 20 years ago, Eugene “Don Gene” Altieri founded Altieri Coffee in Boquete, planting the seeds of a family legacy. His Geisha trees trace their lineage to the famous Peterson family of Hacienda La Esmeralda, the farm that reintroduced Geisha to the world in 2004. Today, the farms Pipim Estates and Mima Estates are managed by Don Gene’s children, Anna Lynn and Francisco, alongside farm manager Roger Pitti.
The Alessa Lot, named after one of Don Gene’s grandchildren, grows at 1,800 meters above sea level on the slopes of Mima Estates, near the pristine forest reserve of Baru Volcano. The rich volcanic soil, cool shadowed microclimate, and meticulous care combine to produce a Geisha of exceptional clarity, floral aromatics, and vibrant sweetness, a true expression of Boquete’s world-renowned terroir.
