Jägermeister is a liqueur made from 56 herbs. The recipe for the liqueur has been around since 1934, and Jägermeister is produced and bottled in Wolfenbüttel in Lower Saxony.
The Jägermeister logo refers to the Hubertus legend and shows the head of a stag with a shining cross between the shoots of its antlers.
On the label of the bottle is the following poem by Otto von Riesenthal:
It is the hunter's shield of honor
that he protects and cherishes his game,
hunts like a hunter, as it should be,
honors the creator in the creature.
Tasting notes:
Jägermeister is drunk either neat (then iced) or as a mixed drink. In addition to the classic long drinks with orange juice, cola, etc., there are a variety of recipes, e.g. with cocoa or milk.
