WHAT IS A FILTER BLEND?
Crafting the perfect cup of single-origin coffee is challenging. While each coffee from various origins and varieties possesses its unique flavor profiles, the strengths can also be weaknesses. We usually think that only single-origin coffee can be a truly exceptional specialty coffee. However, single-origin coffees can sometimes feel incomplete. Ethiopian coffee, for example, is known for its bright acidity and floral notes, yet, it is also known for its thin body. To achieve a more balanced coffee, roasters often blend single-origin beans from different regions, like South America or Indonesia, known for their full-bodied characteristics. This is one of the reasons that initiates the creation of the filter blend. We think it could be better in quality and taste, a more balanced cup, and a complete sensory experience.
WHY IS IT CALLED THE FORBIDDEN FRUIT?
Forbidden Fruit is a name given to the fruit growing in the Garden of Eden which God commands mankind not to eat. It is also the most famous and important fruit in history because it changed everything after Adam and Eve ate it. This Filter Blend has the same traits as the Forbidden Fruit.
When you taste this coffee, we believe that your coffee experience will never be the same. This Filter Blend can produce something that was deemed impossible before within single-origin coffee. Forbidden Fruit is a meticulously crafted filter blend, where ethereal Colombia Jairo dances with the bold richness of Costa Rica. Resulting in intricate fruitiness with bursting strawberry notes, smooth fresh apple, and a full-bodied finish with a sweetness like molasses that lingers.
Unlike the original forbidden fruit, this one brings nothing but enlightenment (and a seriously good cup of coffee).
