HYDRANAL Formamide Dry is a high-purity, water-free solvent specifically formulated for use in Karl Fischer (KF) titration as an auxiliary reagent. It is especially effective in the titration of highly polar substances or samples that are difficult to dissolve in standard KF solvents, enhancing accuracy and solvent compatibility in both volumetric and coulometric KF applications.
This colorless liquid offers excellent chemical and thermal stability, with a high boiling point of 210 °C, a flashpoint of 175 °C, and a density of 1.133 g/cm³ at 20 °C. It is completely miscible with water, yet remains anhydrous, making it ideal for trace moisture determination. It also dissolves well in most organic solvents, making it versatile for complex sample matrices.
