The method is an adaptation of the Diazotization method, adapted from EPA method 354.1. The reaction between nitrite and the reagent causes a pink tint in the sample. By simply adding the reagent to the sample, a reaction will take place and a compatible benchtop or portable meter can be used to determine the concentration from the color that is produced. The results will be displayed in mg/L (ppm) of nitrite. These reagents are designed to be used with samples that are within the expected range of the meter being used. Ranges available include 0.000 to 0.600 mg/L nitrite with the portable photometer (HI96707) and 0.00 to 1.15 mg/L nitrite with our compatible benchtop photometers.
