Water Still adalah menerapkan teknik distilasi dalam proses penyulingan, sehingga menghasilkan air murni yang sesuai dengan berbagai kebutuhan analisis di laboratorium. Teknik distilasi yaitu memanaskan air hingga mencapai titik didihnya. Uap air yang dihasilkan lalu dikondensasi hingga mengembun kembali menjadi cairan (distilat). Teknik ini akan menyingkirkan banyak pengotor, namun pengotor yang memiliki titik didih sama atau lebih rendah dari air akan tetap terbawa dalam distilat.
