Jakarta, April 22, 2022 – Tokopedia recently revealed that Mom & Kids as well as Kids Fashion remained two of the best-selling categories on Tokopedia in the first quarter of 2022.
“Compared to the previous quarter, children products such as disposable diapers, baby milk, telon oil as well as baby shampoo, soap, cotton, and wipes were among the top-selling products on the Mom & Kids subcategory on Tokopedia during Q1 2022,” said Tokopedia’s Head of Category Development Ramadhan Niendraputra.
“Products such as children’s t-shirts, shoulder bags, school bags, hairbands, and socks continued to be most popular products in the Kids Fashion subcategory,” added Ramadhan.
This trend is also supported by many Tokopedia initiatives that respond to the needs of parents looking for children-related products. These initiatives also aim at supporting local businesses that sell such products.
Tokopedia Parents, for example, is an ecosystem on Tokopedia specially designed to make it easier for the general public – especially parents – to have access to products and information that affect their children, families, and households.
Furthermore, Tokopedia Parents is also hosting the Kids Fashion Festival campaign in collaboration with several local MSMEs that sells a variety of children’s fashion products. The festival itself takes place this April 22nd to 26th, 2022.
At the same time, Tokopedia continues to strengthen its Hyperlocal initiative as a way to bring local MSMEs in the children’s fashion-related category with nearby buyers, allowing them to have the same opportunity to grow.
“Driven by the Hyperlocal initiative, we see Pacitan, South Lampung, Langs, Gunungkidul, and Klungkung to be some of the regions with the highest increase in the number of sellers of children’s products in 2021 compared to the previous year,” concluded Ramadhan.
