Jakarta, 2 February 2022 - Tokopedia, as an Indonesian technology company, is committed to collaborating with strategic partners to encourage the advancement of digital talent in the country and achieve an even distribution of knowledge through technology via the Tokopedia Academy.
"Throughout 2021, participants who participate in educational programs about the digital and technology through the Tokopedia Academy have increased almost 3x compared to 2020," said CIO, Chief of Staff Technology and Senior Vice President of Tokopedia, Aswin T. Utomo.
This increase was driven by the addition of six new programs in 2021, namely, START Talks: a discussion forum from top technology industry leaders, Tokopedia NextGen: an incubator for SMA/SMK/SLTA equivalent students, START CX First Summit, CX First Talks: webinars about CX, TGTC X Project and Summer Acceleration Programs: skills improvement and career development workshops for students and fresh graduates.
"Until now, there are 18 programs that can be accessed by the Indonesian for free through the Tokopedia Academy website," explained Aswin.
These programs include START Summit, START Summit Extension, Start Women in Tech, Technology Workshop, DevCamp, Data Workshop, Behind Great Product, Design After Hours, Product Design Workshop, Product Design Academy, Tokopedia Connects, and Tokopedia Goes to Campus.
Through these series of programs, Tokopedia Academy has carried out various free derivative activities during 2021, including:
- 4 Summits: START Summit: Tokopedia's annual technology conference, START Women in Tech: an annual technology conference to empower and encourage women's participation in the technology industry, START CX First Summit: customer experience (CX) conference, and the Konferensi Maju Digital (KMD) with GoTo group ecosystem.
- 14 workshops on programming, product development, multi-cloud strategy, entrepreneurship, and much more,
- 55 educational webinars about technology, data, product design, product management, CX, and various other materials related to the digital world of technology.
Pires Cerullo, a participant of the DevCamp 2021 program (intensive training and hackathon), said, "I got a lot of benefits and insights from the tech leaders at Tokopedia. Especially during the Hackathon, where there are many interesting ideas and innovations that we can think of in 22 hours. I am also grateful because, through this program, I was given the opportunity to do an internship at Tokopedia."
