Tokopedia’s 16th Anniversary: Orders Surge 127%, PLUS Relaunched to Boost Local Brands

Jakarta, August 19, 2025 – Marking its 16th anniversary on August 17, Tokopedia, in collaboration with TikTok Shop, reported a 127.5% surge in orders during July 2024-June 2025 and relaunched its PLUS subscription program under the “Banyak PLUSnya” campaign, aimed at rewarding loyal users and supporting local brands, particularly MSMEs.

“Tokopedia PLUS subscribers enjoy multiple benefits, including unlimited 5% discounts with no minimum spend, free shipping for all delivery types including instant and same-day, an additional IDR 5,000 discount for daily essentials, and exclusive promotions on the Beli Lokal page—helping shoppers save more while boosting sales for local brands,” said Stephanie Susilo, Senior Director of Tokopedia and TikTok E-Commerce.

In the first half of 2025, Fashion and Food & Beverages emerged as the fastest-growing categories on the Beli Lokal pages of Tokopedia and TikTok Shop, with hijabs and snacks topping their respective lists.

Significant Growth Across Product Categories

E-commerce shopping trends in Indonesia have shown strong momentum over the past year. From July 2024 to June 2025, several categories recorded substantial growth in orders: Fashion (+110.5%), Groceries—including Food & Beverages as well as Beauty & Personal Care (+134.75%), and Automotive & Electronics (+158.25%).

During the first half of 2025, the best-selling products in Fashion were t-shirts, watches, and house dresses. In Groceries, snacks, coffee, and cooking oil dominated the Food & Beverages subcategory, while skincare, makeup, and shampoo led Beauty & Personal Care. For Automotive & Electronics, engine oil, mobile phones, and washing machines topped sales.

PLUS Program Targets Growth for Local Brands

The relaunch of PLUS is expected to drive orders across more product categories, particularly from local brands owned by MSMEs. Tokopedia views this as a strategic move to strengthen Indonesia’s e-commerce ecosystem, making it more inclusive, competitive, and aligned with evolving consumer needs.

“With benefits designed to simplify daily life, we hope this program becomes part of our users’ shopping habits—especially in supporting local products—while helping them save more and enjoy the many PLUS advantages,” Stephanie explained.

“At 16, we’re not just celebrating achievements but also reaffirming our vision for the future. We aim to continue growing alongside our users and local sellers by delivering innovations with real impact,” she concluded.
