However, there are a number of misconceptions and inaccuracies about the Tokopedia and TikTok Shop Seller Center to clarify:
Myth: Sellers are obliged to have stores on both platforms after joining the new seller center.
Fact: Sellers have the freedom to sell only on Tokopedia, only on TikTok Shop, or on both platforms. Additionally, sellers can gradually begin with an affiliate program before venturing into live streaming.
Myth: Sellers must create video content on TikTok after integrating their store.
Fact: As mentioned previously, sellers have the freedom to sell on Tokopedia, TikTok Shop, or both. If a seller doesn't yet have the resources to sell on TikTok Shop and create promotional video content on TikTok, they can still comfortably continue selling on Tokopedia.
Myth: Sellers are obligated to activate the Cash on Delivery (COD) payment method upon joining the new seller center.
Fact: Sellers have the flexibility to deactivate it at any time via the seller center.
Myth: A 3% fee applies to all transactions for pre-order products on both TikTok Shop and Tokopedia.
Fact: This fee only applies to pre-order products purchased through TikTok Shop and does not apply to transactions made via Tokopedia. Sellers have the ability to choose to sell exclusively on Tokopedia to avoid this fee.
Myth: Payment processing takes longer after joining the new seller center.
Fact: The new seller center introduces an express payment option—processed within three days, provided the seller meets certain conditions, such as non-violation of our policies, having passed the new store adjustment period, and not using the Seller's Own Shipping method.
Payments on Tokopedia can be processed even instantly as soon as the order confirmation button is clicked by the buyer (only applicable for Tokopedia orders).
